“SUPREME COURT GERRYMANDERING RULING LEAVES AMERICA WITH A TOXIC MESS” SAYS CLEANUP CARL
Washington, DC – Today, in the wake of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Gill v. Whitford that plaintiffs lack standing, thereby refusing to resolve the issue of partisan gerrymandering, Cleanup Carl (America’s only superhero for democracy) issued the following statement:
“By refusing to issue a ruling on partisan gerrymandering, the Supreme Court is now a complicit actor in the GOP’s concerted attempt to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters around the country through redrawn Congressional districts. The toxic effects of that power-grab will only continue to corrupt our representative system with disastrous consequences for Americans until the Supreme Court decides to stop sweeping that mess under the rug and give it the clean up it deserves!”
